Are You Listening to Your Body? It May be Yelling, Right About Now

If you have ever fought against fatigue, you’ve probably tried everything to gain some energy. Like me you probably succumbed to endless cups of coffee and sweets. The problem is that the little temporary increase of energy you may gain is short-lived, and what’s worse it brings you crashing down rather quickly once the effects are over.

For years I struggled with fatigue. I woke up exhausted and went to bed completely spent. It was not fun, this roller coaster of drinking yet another cup of coffee with the hopes of feeling energized was very frustrating to say the least. Not to mention, that it was probably doing a number on my adrenal glands.

It was not until I finally got off the roller coaster that I began to experience true energy. Once I took out the number one culprit, sugar I started to leave behind my days of fatigue. The pattern of waking up late and exhausted were finally over. Today, I am able to wake up early and jump out of bed ready to face the day. For someone who was given a diagnosis of  fibromyalgia that is a small miracle.

The Bible tells us in Romans 12:1,2, Therefore, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you can discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Rather than look for a substance to give you energy, listen to your body. Take the time to carefully pay attention to that inner voice telling you to stop, put that down! Don’t eat that you don’t need it etc.  If you do, you will soon find yourself on the path to wellness. However, if you keep ignoring that inner voice and instead it just gets louder, eventually it will start yelling “malfunction”, “malfunction”

It starts off being minor issues like headaches and indigestion, and the need to rest a little more. In time if we don’t listen it turns into full-blown diseases and severe exhaustion.

Ask yourself these honest questions to see if it’s time you stop ignoring that inner voice.

  1. Do you wake up rested or exhausted?
  2. Do you struggle to get a good night’s sleep? Do find it difficult to unwind and enter deep REM sleep?
  3. Do you find yourself drinking coffee, tea, or soda several times a day because of lack of energy?
  4. Do you suffer from aching pain that is hard to pinpoint? Are you in pain often?
  5. Do you have frequent headaches?
  6. Do you deal with allergy symptoms that do not seem to leave? Symptoms like, runny nose and puffy eyes?

It is God’s desire that you live in complete and total health. It is up to us to strive to live the abundant life promised in the second half of John 10:10. Don’t listen to the voices that tell you, you can eat whatever you want, whenever you want without any consequences. We must take responsibility for our health and do our part in order to see the changes we are hoping for.

Begin to listen to your body and reap the harvest of good health!

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia ,also. I ,too, have given up sugar, switched to sprouted whole grains… and many other choices. but the fall , and breaking of my pelvis, knee replacement, hip replacement, and abdominal surgery involving 9 incisions, It’s hard to know what is fibro related and what is just pain not healed.

I hear you! Everyone’s body is unique, I can’t get near even grains even sprouted ones.. Although, tests don’t say I have an allergy my doc feels I may have a sensitivity to wheat. I suffered from chronic sciatica pain for years now I am able to workout some and at that has helped considerably. I pray you will recoup soon. Be well 🙂

I understand this so well. Even now if I have too much coffee I’ll crash earlier. I love how much energy I burst into the day with after going sugar free and keto. I actually feel alive rather than like I’m walking around dead.
