Wake me up with coffee! Let’s face it millions of people around the world make coffee part of their morning ritual. There is no doubt that a shot of caffeine can help wake you up. But is coffee a good thing or is it something we need to avoid? Well, that depends on how sensitive you are to caffeine.
Some people find that even one cup of coffee can make them jittery, while others can drink several cups a day with no adverse reaction. So it needs to be a personal decision. I generally only have one cup of coffee in the morning. I love to grind my own coffee beans before adding it my French Press. It’s a nice morning ritual that I look forward to every day.
I begin my day with a fat fueled coffee and take advantage of how the MCT oil raises my ketones and allows me to be super focused for my daily time with God. If there is one thing I love about using fat for fuel and assessing ketones is that it mimics the benefits of fasting.
This of course is a regular discipline in my life as Christian. What’s neat is that I have found that a low carb keto diet has made listening to God much easier. Does that sound odd to you? Bulletproof® was first created by Silicon Valley investor and life hacker, Dave Asprey . His recipe requires organic beans free from mycotoxins, grass-fed butter and MCT oil in the form of coconut oil. Basically it’s a way to include healthy fats in to your diet in an easy delicious easy way. Adding MCT oil (medium -chain fatty acids) raises your ketone levels. This in turn gives you more energy and keeps you nice satiated for hours. This is a good option and what I used to use.
I used to add straight MCT oil into my coffee. I now use Keto// Kreme when I want a fat coffee to help raise my ketones. Why? Because it uses powdered MCT oil derived from coconut. It also has a high level non-bitter stevia already in the mix, which makes the process so much easier. Not going to lie, regular MCT oil floats at the top of your coffee and frankly it’s not as appetizing.
