Bulletproof Coffee, What’s All The Buzz About?

fat coffee

Wake me up with coffee! Let’s face it millions of people around the world make coffee part of their morning ritual. There is no doubt that a shot of caffeine make us more alert. But is caffeine a good thing or is it something we need to avoid? Well, that depends on how sensitive you are to caffeine. Let’s see if we can improve on coffee by taking it up a notch with MCT oil.

Some people find that even one cup of coffee can make them jittery, while others can drink several cups a day with no adverse reaction. So it needs to be a personal decision if coffee should be part of your daily life. I generally only have one cup of coffee in the morning. I personally grind my own coffee beans and use a French Press, for a wonderful cup of coffee. It’s a nice morning ritual that I look forward to as I open up the word of God and start the day laser focused.

Are you aware of MCT oil and it’s benefits? Maybe you’re more familiar with the term bulletproof coffee, or perhaps fat coffee. If you are not aware of this concoction, let me explain.  Bulletproof®  was first created by Silicon Valley investor and life hacker, Dave Asprey . His recipe requires organic beans free from mycotoxins, grass-fed butter and MCT oil in the form of coconut oil. Basically it’s a way to include healthy fats in to your diet in an easy delicious easy way. Adding MCT oil (medium -chain fatty acids) raises your ketone levels. This in turn gives you more energy and keeps you nice satiated for  hours.

I used to add straight MCT oil into my coffee, even though I wasn’t a great fan of having a pool of oil floating at the top of my coffee. It’s not the most appetizing drink, but I was willing to make it work because of the benefits. I now use Keto// Kreme from Prüvit when I want a fat coffee to help raise my ketones and want the benefits of MCT oil.  Why? Because it uses the shortest MCTs in a powdered form. Smaller MCTs means our brain is able to access the benefits faster than other oils or fats. It’s made with a blend of C8 and C10 which are designed for quick conversion into ketones.  Coconut kreme powder is what makes it easy to mix. It also has Ceylon cinnamon which also help with insulin sensitivity helping to reducing blood sugar levels as well as a reduction in triglycerides. What’s more Keto Kreme is not stored as fat by the body and has shown an increase in fat burning.

With regular MCT oil you need to make sure it blends well into your coffee or tea. You have the added step of using a blender to help emulsify the oil, but even this does not always prevent it from separating.  With so many steps to drink a fat fueled coffee, it didn’t become part of my regular day and I was therefore missing out.  Using a packet of Keto//Kreme makes having a fatty coffee or tea a delicious breeze. It’s easy to carry in my purse and if I need a quick pick me up I can now do so with great ease. Try doing that with a bottle of oil?

If you’re wanting to try a bulletproof coffee that is both powerful and easy to make I encourage you to give Keto//Kreme a try.
