Keto Chicken Burgers (Juicy)

These keto chicken burgers are a delicious and great way to use ground chicken. It uses simple ingredients for the perfect low-carb chicken burger patties.

Keto chicken patties are a great alternative to the regular burger patty. It’s a recipe for healthy burgers for anyone doing the keto diet who is avoiding red meat.

It’s the perfect tasty chicken pattie recipe to add to your keto meal plans.

Making easy meals while doing a ketogenic diet, like these healthy chicken burgers, is what makes keto sustainable.

The fact that these are bunless burgers that the whole family will enjoy will make meal prep a breeze.

Sure, using ground beef pretty much guarantees juicy burgers, but I found a way to ensure that these chicken burgers are juicy by adding butter to the patty ingredients.

It’s the easiest way to add both flavor and moisture to these chicken keto burgers. In fact, you could even swap out the ground chicken for ground turkey and keep those net carbs low.

I already have a recipe for keto chicken patties that uses leftover rotisserie chicken that you should also check out, but this recipe uses chicken ground meat for an easy weeknight meal that is also very economical!

Keto Chicken Burgers

I like serving my chicken low-carb burgers in a lettuce wrap or a bed of salad greens as a burger bowl.

Add a slice of tomato, some red onion, and your favorite cheese for a ground chicken recipe that will make your tastebuds happy!

Trust me, you won’t even miss the hamburger buns, because these are delicious burgers.

Did I mention that I also included our family’s burger sauce recipe? It’s a keto-friendly option that we like to place on top of the chicken burgers to amplify their flavor.

Serve these burgers as a main course, and stop being tempted by fast food. Who says keto meals can’t be simple and tasty?

I chose to use pre-packaged organic ground chicken, but you can certainly use a food processor to use only chicken breasts, chicken breast fillets, and even chicken thighs!

These chicken burgers are seasoned with a little chipotle powder and a tiny amount of cayenne pepper and are not really spicy, but you can leave out the cayenne pepper and reduce the chipotle powder for milder spice.

  • Ground chicken 
  • Small white onion, finely chopped
  • Garlic cloves, finely grated
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Chipotle powder 
  • Cayenne pepper, a small amount
  • Almond flour
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Ground black pepper 
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Salt 
  • Chopped parsley
  • Unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes

How To Make Keto Chicken Burgers

You’ll start by preparing the burger sauce by adding all of the sauce ingredients to a small bowl.  Then mix the ingredients until well combined. Place the prepared sauce in the refrigerator for later.

Next, you’ll cut the cold butter into small cubes. This is the secret ingredient that will keep your chicken burgers nice and juicy as they cook.

Once you cut the butter, store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to add it to the chicken mixture.

In a large bowl, place all of the chicken burger ingredients and mix well until everything is combined.

Then, fold in the cold butter cubes.

Using wet hands, form six balls to make the patties. Flatten the chicken burgers into 1/2-inch patties.

You’ll need a little oil to cook the chicken patties. Cook the chicken burgers in a frying pan for about 4–5 minutes per side.

Once the burgers are cooked, top them with your choice of cheese, if you like.

I’ve also included instructions on how to cook on the grill for those who might want to add these to their next BBQ.

Serve your chicken burgers on a bed of salad greens or iceberg lettuce. Lastly, top the chicken patties with a tablespoon or two of the burger sauce.

Keto Chicken Burgers (Gluten-Free)

These delicious keto chicken burgers are made with ground chicken and are both flavorful and easy to make. Perfect for a fast weeknight meal and a great alternative to beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground chicken
  • 1 small white onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder 
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper 
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • 3 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes

Burger Sauce

Instructions

    1. Prepare the burger sauce by adding all of the sauce ingredients to a small bowl. Mix the ingredients until well combined. Place the prepared sauce in the refrigerator for later. 
    2. Cut the cold butter into small cubes. Set it aside in the refrigerator for later.
    3. Place the ground chicken and all the burger ingredients in a large bowl and mix well until everything is combined.
    4. Next, fold in the cold butter cubes.
    5. Using wet hands, form 6 balls and flatten the chicken burgers into 1/2 inch patty.
    6. Cook the chicken patties with a couple of tablespoons of oil for 6 minutes per side. The chicken burgers will firm up when fully cooked. You could also check for an internal temperature of 170 degrees to ensure the burgers are cooked.
    7. Serve your chicken burgers on a bed of salad greens or iceberg lettuce, tomato, and red onions. Top with a tablespoon or two of the burger sauce.
    8. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 weeks.

Grilling Instructions

    1. Preheat the grill to 375 F.
    2. Spray the grill with cooking spray and cook the chicken burgers over direct heat for about 5-6 minutes per side.
    3. Move the burgers to indirect heat and add the cheese of your choice until it melts. For about 2 minutes.
